What you can expect: a weekly drop of a bit of what I can remember about working in the Chinese media industry, especially during a political change towards the hardline, memories of being an expat, musings on Chineseness, some dog photos. I might do some topical posts if something happens in the news that seems like it belongs here.

Why would you subject yourself to this: hopefully you’re entertained by it. Let me know what stuff you’re interested in as things go, and I’ll try to address those in subsequent posts.

What this is not: legally binding

I am not planning on ever charging money for this Substack, however if at some point a publishing company or someone wants to pay me for it in the form of a book or a movie, or an epic tone poem, I reserve the right to make a couple of bucks on it.
